THE CONCEPT

Outdoors: leave the classroom behind and learn French in the open air: in a park, next to a fountain, or in an unusual place.
In context: enrich your everyday vocabulary by discovering markets, cafés, shops, monuments… of Aix-en-Provence. This will boost your confidence to communicate!
Clear and simple: learn the essentials of French.
Personalized: we focus on your goals and interests for fast and effective learning.
Flexible: choose your location and your class schedule.
Guided: benefit from support before and after your stay in Aix-en-Provence!

I created a new concept of learning the French language and culture outdoors, to promote well-being and the discovery of language and culture in context!

Because learning a language means living it, we step outside the traditional classroom to fully enjoy the French experience!

With the goal of helping you progress in French while respecting your objectives and interests, we will first assess your level and your needs.

My teaching method is simple, clear, and effective, allowing you to learn French quickly. It is designed for everyone, regardless of nationality, age, or level.

With more than 20 years of experience teaching French as a Foreign Language, and with pedagogical coordination both in France and abroad, I invite you to discover my program: Français & Découverte!

TEAM

NATHALIE BESSON

Founder of Français & Découverte and FLE teacher

I have been teaching French as a foreign language for over 28 years.

I have taught general and professional French in France (Lyon, Nice, Montpellier, Marseille, Salon-de-Provence, and Aix-en-Provence) and abroad (United States, Mexico, and Brazil) in universities, public and private schools, associations, companies, consulates, and embassies, thanks to my degrees in French, tourism, and law.

In Provence, I currently teach or have taught in the IAU ACM (American University of the Mediterranean) in Aix-en-Provence, ITER Cadarache, the Air Force Base in Salon-de-Provence and the Alliance Française in Aix-en-Provence.

I hold a Master’s degree in French as a Foreign Language, a Master’s in Language Sciences, the DAMOC (diploma in cultural and educational organization management), as well as a Master’s in Law and a vocational degree in Tourism, which allow me to teach general and professional French effectively.

I also founded my own French school, “Institut de France” in Porto Alegre, Brazil, where I lived for 8 years.

I have taught in more than 20 schools, to thousands of students from all over the world… This has allowed me to understand the learning mechanisms of each person and/or nationality and to choose the most effective teaching methods for each.

I have learned 6 foreign languages and speak them at different levels:
English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, and Korean.

Like you, I have experienced the challenges of learning and putting myself in your shoes!
I have lived in 3 foreign countries: the United States, Mexico, and Brazil. Like you, I traveled, moved, and discovered that mastering a new language opens doors!

I was lucky enough to grow up in an international family: French, Brazilian, English, Spanish, and Argentinian, and I realized that learning several languages is an incredible wealth.

Passionate about southern France, and especially Provence, I settled in Aix-en-Provence where I teach French with passion, in an exceptional setting. Passionate about languages, travel, people, different cultures, and my native language, I look forward to meeting you.

I can’t wait to teach you my native language!

PAULINE

FLE Teacher

I have been teaching French as a foreign language for over 15 years, first abroad in Brazil (4 years) and then in the United States for 9 years (I worked for the French Lycée of San Francisco), and finally in France, in Aix-en-Provence since the start of the 2021 school year.

I have traveled extensively since I was 18 and each time I made it a point to learn the language of the country (Portuguese / English / Spanish).

This now allows me to teach French while being fully aware of the challenges, fears, expectations, and needs of each student.

What I particularly love about this profession is the sharing and cultural exchange with people from all backgrounds.

I look forward to meeting you!

I see her once a week (more would be better but I’m busy), remotely, and it has made a huge improvement to my French ability since previously relying on just the apps. I speak with her almost exclusively in French , and though I still speak at a very slow pace, I feel like I am now very close to a tipping point of being able to converse more naturally. In the beginning, she asked what my objectives were with the language, and tailored the lessons towards that (for me, the lessons are mostly conversational, with some necessary grammar towards the end of each lesson). Merci pour tout, Français et Découverte!

Trustindex vérifie que la source originale de l'avis est Google. I had daily lessons with Nathalie while holidaying in Aix, and they were so helpful and enjoyable.

Nathalie creates a fun and warm environment to learn in. Our lessons often included practical activities like visiting shops and engaging in conversations with vendors. This all built my confidence in speaking considerably.

I highly recommend Nathalie for French lessons. Our sessions flew by and because of Nathalie’s warmth and sense of humour, I often felt I was just hanging out with a friend, rather than being in a typical lesson. Thank you Nathalie for an unforgettable experience!! ❤️

Trustindex vérifie que la source originale de l'avis est Google. I've had Nathalie as a tutor for over a year now and I always look forward to our weekly sessions. She has a good sense of what I'm interested in, and picks material to suit, while also providing instruction that I need. I like the emphasis on conversation, and she gives good notes that include new points that come up as well as corrections. She's definitely a big part of the progress I've been able to make learning French. I find her very easy to work with, very good at what she does, and a pleasure to know.
